The Fredericton Region Museum is offering the summer day camps for our fourth summer!!

The museum operates six different weeks of summer day camps offering children 8 to 11 years of age an opportunity to directly explore some of Fredericton’s history and discover links to the City’s past. Our camps have a maximum of 10 Campers each week, allowing the children to fully participate and enjoy the week in their own way while also exploring and learning about our past in a fun and inclusive manner. Children take daily trips to nearby sites and visit heritage gems that make Fredericton a wonderful place to live.  With lots of time for creativity, campers play traditional and contemporary games, construct crafts, explore our heritage, make lasting friendships, and learn about our past in a very unique way!

Reviews:
My daughter just finished a week of summer camp there, I was very impressed by how friendly the staff were and how well organized the camp was.  It was a great mix of fun and education and my daughter LOVED it!! Fingers crossed they do it again next year.” – 2014

It was a wonderful & unique opportunity for my child to immerse himself in the past.  Each day, he would come home with a slew of questions, “Dad, did you know …?”  Not only was he learning, he was retaining, all while having a fun time with the other youth at the camp.  He had such a good time; he went back for a second week.” – 2015

My daughter went to camp at the Fredericton Regional Museum this summer and she had so much fun! They did lots of fun things at the museum including trying on costumes, making crafts, learning new games and meeting new friends. They also got to go to lots of other places during the week – they went swimming, toured the lighthouse (including going right to the top), Science East and the art gallery. Her favourite part was the bunker display in the museum and new games. The leaders were awesome and she is already talking about next summer!” – 2016

My daughter had a great time at the Confederation camp! She came home telling me all about the early history of our country – even correcting me when I tried to expand on the story she was telling and I got some of the details wrong!  Her favourite parts of the camp were the time spent outside, and the field trips to local historic sites. The staff was great with the kids, knowledgeable and fun at the same time. She definitely wants to go back next year!” – 2016

[Name Removed] had an incredible week at camp with you this year.  He really loved the activities and learned about architecture too.  In his words, “camp was great”.  I look forward to next summer and registering him once again for another week.  Thank you for having him he truly enjoyed himself. And special thanks to letting him take home his box fort which he created that week.  He will definitely be back!” – 2016

The Fredericton Region Museum offers a great day camp program. Our daughter attended the Confederation themed week, and had such a fun week touring Fredericton and learning about how New Brunswick was involved in the meetings and decisions leading up to the formation of our country (timing was great as we lead into the sesquicentennial in 2017). Apart from what she learned (which is really a bonus where summer camp is concerned), she really did have a lot of fun and I knew when I dropped her off each morning that her day would be full of fun and adventure. The counsellors were fun and responsible, the outings gave them time to explore and work off extra energy and they also had time to explore the museum and use their imaginations with art/craft projects. She was a happy, tired girl each night with lots of stories to tell about her day. We send our thanks to the staff of the museum for offering such a great program, and we recommend this day camp as a fun, affordable and convenient option for Fredericton area children!” – 2016

Our boys absolutely love going to your summer camps. They have been going for several years and they always look forward to going again. They are tourists in their own town when they go to visit the various historic buildings and sites. They love learning all about history, the people, the places and the precious artifacts. They also really enjoy the camp counselor and the staff at the museum who keep things interesting the whole time they are at camp. Thank you for having these wonderful summer camps.
